Sup PFD & Hydration Pack

It’s here!  SUP season is now upon us and you’re going to need a couple things as you head out on the water, namely a SUP PFD & hydration pack.  While a true hydration integrated PFD isn’t out there yet there are some good alternatives.  These hydration packs can be combined with a SUP specific PFD so you can stay hydrated and safe while you’re out on the water.

Packs like the NRS PFD Hydration Pack, the Kokatat Tributary Hydration System, and the DolfinPack Hydration Pack all offer some great benefits and can compliment and combine with your PFD to keep you comfortable and safe the next time you head out for a paddle.  Let’s dive in and take a look at the SUP hydration packs that made the cut.

CamelBak Tahoe LR Hydration Pack

The Tahoe from CamelBak is an awesome hydration pack for SUP’ers.  This low profile pack fits around your waist and comfortably sits under your PFD.  Designed for paddle boarding the Tahoe has a lot of nice features for those looking for a slim, unobtrusive hydration pack.

One of the things that makes it our favorite is the fact that it’s designed to carry an inflatable PFD.  This feature allows for all of your paddling equipment to stay out of the way but still be ready to go.

Lowe Alpine LifeFlight Hydration Pack

Like the hip pack idea but want to ditch the hose?  Boom! The Lowe Alpine LightFlight Hydro.  This SUP-ready hydration pack is all set for your next adventure on the water.

With integrated storage and secure water bottle holder the LightFlight is ready to go with sizable and secure storage areas and two additional mesh pockets. One thing that makes this pack stand out is the angled bottle holder pouch which makes it super easy to grab while you’re on your board.

NRS PFD Hydration Pack

The PFD Hydration Pack is a pretty innovative pack from NRS and definitely belongs in our hunt for a SUP PFD & hydration pack.  This awesome hydration system clips on the any PFD and allows you to integrate a water source while out on the water.  It comes with a 1.5 liter bladder that will help keep you hydrated all day.

DolfinPack Hydration Pack

The DolfinPack PFD is the first hydration pack designed to go underwater.  This unique design is very low profile and enable the user to wear it underneath of a PFD, wetsuit or jacket.  Weighing only 5.6 ounces this pack is incredibly lightweight and is an ideal solution for those looking for a low profile hydration pack that they use in the water.

This model is the older version and you can find great deals on it.  The newer model has an extra .5 L of hydration storage so if you’re looking for more capacity check out the second version here.

Kokatat Tributary Hydration Pack

The Tributary Hydration Pack from Kokatat is another pack designed to be attached to a PFD.  This pack fits any Kokatat PFD with full foam back except for the SeaO2 and Orbit.  This pack enables you to retrofit a hydration solution to keep your thirst at bay all day.

Complete with a stash pocket for added convenience and a 1.5 liter bladder so you can store your favorite beverage on the longer paddles out.  This is the optimal solution for those with a Kokatat PFD.
